United’s first friendly – against Rosenborg – is just one week away.

Erik ten Hag’s men will then face Scottish giants Rangers on Saturday 20 July (16:00 BST), Arsenal on Sunday 28 July (01:00 BST), Real Betis on 1 August (03:00 BST) and finally Liverpool on 4 August (00:30 BST).

United will then meet reigning Premier League champions Manchester City six days later at Wembley for the Community Shield clash.

Earlier today, the likes of Andre Onana, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Amad Diallo, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Antony and Marcus Rashford were all spotted at Carrington fresh off their respective summer breaks.

The club confirmed via their website that squad members will return on a staggered basis over the next few weeks, with those on international duty set to come back later.

The first batch of players who reported on Monday were subjected to medical testing before undertaking their first training session.

Ten Hag was also present at United’s training complex.

United also relayed that due to ongoing redevelopment works at Carrington, the players are using different facilities from the ones they usually utilise.

As per the club, “All our teams – men’s, women’s and Academy – will experience changes to their usual training environment this season as the project progresses, while maintaining access to high-quality facilities and pitches throughout.”

“Once completed, all our teams will benefit from the major investment being made to bring Carrington back up to world-class standards.”

The Manchester Evening News reports that Jadon Sancho was “not accounted for” at Carrington today.

The newspaper notes that United have remained “tight-lipped” on whether or not Sancho was there for the first day of pre-season training.
